Two ways to go for Hajj from India
Through the Hajj Committee of India. You apply online through the Hajj Committee, which works with the Karnataka State Haj Committee. When there are more applicants than seats, pilgrims are selected by draw. Flights leave from embarkation points such as Bengaluru, and the stay is usually around 40 days.
With a private tour operator. Registered private operators receive a separate quota of seats. The trip is shorter, you have more choice of hotels, and it costs more.
Both routes need the same preparation: documents, vaccinations, fitness, and knowing the rites well. Tell us your situation and we will explain which route suits your family, and help with every step of the paperwork.
The days of Hajj
Hajj takes place over five or six days. We go through each day in detail at the training classes in Mysuru.

8 Dhul Hijjah
Ihram and Mina
Put on Ihram with the intention of Hajj and travel to Mina. Pray Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha and Fajr there.

9 Dhul Hijjah
Arafat, then Muzdalifah
The standing at Arafat from after noon until sunset is the heart of Hajj. After sunset, move to Muzdalifah, pray, rest and collect pebbles.

10 Dhul Hijjah
Eid day
Stone Jamarat al-Aqabah, offer the Qurbani, shave or trim the hair, then perform Tawaf al-Ifadah and Sa'i in Makkah.

11 to 13 Dhul Hijjah
Days in Mina
Stay in Mina and stone all three Jamarat each day after noon. Pilgrims may leave on the 12th or stay for the 13th.

Farewell Tawaf
The last act in Makkah is Tawaf al-Wada. Many groups then visit Madinah, if they did not go before Hajj.

Questions people ask
When should I start planning for Hajj 2027?
Now. Hajj Committee applications usually open in the middle of the year before Hajj, and private seats are confirmed early in the Hajj year. Starting early gives you time for passports, savings and fitness.
Is Hajj compulsory if I have already done Umrah?
Yes. Hajj is obligatory once in a lifetime for every adult Muslim who is physically and financially able. Umrah, however many times, does not replace it.
Can elderly parents perform Hajj?
Yes, with planning. Wheelchair help is available for Tawaf and Sa'i, and some rites can be done on someone's behalf when a person is unable. We discuss each case individually.
How much walking is involved?
A lot, especially between Mina, the Jamarat and Muzdalifah. Some days can involve 10 km or more. A regular walking routine in the months before Hajj makes a real difference.
